The Hai Duong Department of Education and Training on July 6 morning announced benchmarks for 1st and 2nd choices to the 10th grade in the 2021 – 2022 school year.
The benchmarks for the 1st choice to the 10th grade in the 2021 – 2022 school year at 34 out of 39 public senior high schools (SHS) in the province are higher than in the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Some SHSs recorded sharp increases in benchmarks, such as Kinh Mon and Phuc Thanh in Kinh Mon provincial town, Ha Dong in Thanh Ha district, etc.
Five SHSs set lower benchmarks for the 1st choice compared to the previous school year, namely Dong Gia in Kim Thanh district, Cau Xe in Tu Ky district, Tue Tinh in Cam Giang district, Nam Sach in Nam Sach district, and Ben Tam in Chi Linh city.
Hong Quang SHS in Hai Duong city and Ben Tam SHS in Chi Linh city have the highest and lowest benchmarks for the 1st choice in the province with 36.7 and 21.7 points, respectively.
SHSs are allowed to admit pupils passing their 1st choice for at least 80% of their norms. Based on benchmarks, 15 schools have met their targets, so they do not need to enroll pupils satisfying their 2nd choice. 24 schools have enrolled pupils satisfying their 2nd choice, but the quantity is not much.
Tu Ky SHS's benchmark for the 2nd choice is the highest in the province with 36 points while that of Ben Tam SHS is the lowest in the province with 22.6 points.
This year, examinees are not allowed to adjust their 2nd choice.
The benchmarks for six out of 11 specialized classes of Nguyen Trai SHS for Gifted Pupils are also higher than last year. Specifically, the Russian class requires 44.5 points, up 3.75 points; the history class, 37.35 points, up 2.9 points; the geography class, 39.9 points, up 2.8 points; the French class, 47.2 points, up 2.6 points; the English class, 48.7 points, up 0.75 points; and the informatics class, 40.35 points, up 0.6 points.
Five specialized classes requiring lower benchmarks are the physics class with 36.35 points, down 9.65 points; the biology class with 34.15 points, down 9 points; the literature class with 44.55 points, down 2.05 points; the mathematics class with 45.35 points, down 0.75 points; and the chemistry class with 40.2 points, down 0.3 points.
The benchmark for the non-specialized 10th-grade class of the school is 41.2 points, up 0.7 points.
