Leading experts to attend AI event in Hai Duong

Some 600 guests are expected to attend a seminar on financial technology (fintech), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and cloud computing for managers and policy makers at the Xu Dong Cultural Center in Hai Duong province on August 18.

Among them are leading Vietnamese experts in these fields, including Professor Ngo Bao Chau, Scientific Director of the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and professor of mathematics at the University of Chicago and Associate Professor Duc (David) Tran, Director of the Network Computing Laboratory of the University of Massachusetts Boston in the US.

Associate Professor Nguyen Viet Anh from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology’s Institute of Information Technology; Country Director of Google Cloud Vietnam Nguyen Duc Toan; and Hoang Nguyen Van, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Digital Transformation and Innovation cum Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAVIS Technology Group, will also partake the event.

The experts will give information about fintech, AI, blockchain, and cloud computing, emphasizing their impacts on and application to economy, society, management, planning, and manpower development.

They will also provide useful knowledge to promote digital transformation suitable to managers, administrative staffs, science and technology specialists, economists, financiers...

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the application of these new technologies in Vietnam in general and Hai Duong province in particular with the experts.

The seminar is aimed at raising digital awareness of leaders, managers, and the community and informing departments and enterprises inside and outside Hai Duong about the province’s digital transformation.

Focus will be on defining a key task of developing platforms for digital transformation, prioritizing research on some core technologies that can take shortcuts and make strong breakthroughs like fintech, AI, blockchain, and cloud computing to create new business models and high-value products and services.

These are preeminent solutions that can bring practical effects to the government, people, and enterprises when new technologies are applied to production, operation, and service provision towards economic, cultural, and social development in association with the locality’s strengths and potential.

On the sidelines of the seminar, fintech, AI, blockchain, and cloud computing solutions and products of six leading telecom providers, namely VNPT, Viettel, FPT, MobiFone, Savis, and NGS, will be displayed at the Xu Dong Cultural Center.

The event, co-organized by the Hai Duong Department of Information and Communications and the VIASM, will be livestreamed on the Hai Duong Newspaper’s Facebook fanpage.
