Hai Duong, FPT Corporation contract for cooperation on digital transformation

The People’s Committee of Hai Duong province on August 24 morning held a meeting to sign a cooperation agreement between Hai Duong authorities and FPT Corporation to carry out digital transformation in the province in the 2021 – 2025 period. The meeting was held online for Covid-19 prevention.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung affirmed that digital transformation was an important task of the province in the 2020 – 2025 tenure and an opportunity for the province to make breakthroughs.

Hai Duong authorities would focus on prioritizing cooperation, investment, and digital transformation in fields promoting socio-economic development and desired that highly capable organizations and businesses would accompany, invest in, and counsel the province for successful digital transformation.

The Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee suggested that FPT Corporation would well coordinate with departments and branches of the province for suggestion, development, and implementation of the contents of the agreement.

Departments, branches, and local authorities should closely collaborate with the Department of Information and Communications to work out plans and effectively realize the digital transformation task in the fields under their management.

According to the cooperation agreement, FPT Corporation will support, coordinate with, and counsel the provincial authorities on devising and implementing mechanisms and policies on digital transformation, improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Provincial Digital Transformation Index (DTI), the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR Index), and the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI); assess the current status and give advice on planning, architecture, an overall digital transformation model, and smart urban areas; organize communication and promote the development of digital economy and society; hold training in digital transformation; pilot and test solutions and ideas, including pilot smart urban implementation for an urban area in the province; etc.

In his directive speech at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang affirmed that the contract for cooperation between Hai Duong authorities and FPT Corporation was an important milestone in the provincial digital transformation development.

The provincial Steering Board, Executive Board, and working groups must proactively and actively coordinate with FPT Corporation to immediately execute cooperation programs with specific plans, solutions, and roadmaps; have annual digital transformation roadmaps with the common goal and directive viewpoint of reforming administrative procedures, building e-government, creating livelihoods for people, and developing digital commercial economy; promote social security and improve people’s ability to apply information technology towards synchronous formation of three pillars of digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee required authorities, branches, local authorities, and the entire political system to effectively implement the contents of cooperation with FPT Corporation for comprehensive transformation with clear results to soon turn Hai Duong into one of the leading provinces in digital transformation in the country...

At the meeting, a decision of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board to establish a steering board for implementation of the agreement between Hai Duong provincial authorities and FPT Corporation under the leadership of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang and a decision of the provincial People’s Committee to form an executive board for execution of the agreement led by Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung were announced.
