Hai Duong province pays attention to drawing investment in technology, waste treatment plants, and hi-tech agriculture for sustainable development.
Hai Duong welcomes more Japanese businesses, especially hi-tech and pollution-free ones that will use a few laborers, take good care of them, have a sense of responsibility, and make great contributions to the provincial development, to the province for investment, according to Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu.
Hieu made the remark while attending the 2nd Overseas Vietnamese Economic Forum in Fukuoka prefecture on October 6 as part of his trip to Japan for trade and investment promotion.
The event was held to foster cooperation between localities and businesses in Vietnam and Japan’s Kyushu region on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations.
It featured the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and seven localities in Vietnam.
In attendance on the Japanese side were Fukuoka Governor Hattori Seitaro and Council Chairman Kohara Katsuji, officials and businesses from eight prefectures in Kyushu region, among others.
Hieu informed the participants about Hai Duong’s socio-economic situation, potential, strengths, and favorable conditions for investment and development.
He highly appreciated the efficiency of Japanese businesses’ investment in Hai Duong, adding that the province is prioritizing and creating the most favorable conditions for investment in education and training to contribute to improving the quality of Hai Duong's human resources to meet domestic and foreign enterprises’ demand for labor.
“Hai Duong also eyes investment in technology, waste treatment plants, and hi-tech agriculture for sustainable development,” Hieu elaborated.
He expected that Japanese authorities, partners, and businesses of the two countries would continue to be an important bridge to promote cooperation and attract Japanese investors to Hai Duong.
The official hailed the meaning of the forum, believing that it would bring about good results in cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in general and Hai Duong in particular.
Earlier, the participants in the forum visited booths of Hai Duong as well as Vietnamese and Japanese localities and businesses at the Fukuoka Convention Center.
