Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai promised to promote development cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam, including Hai Duong province.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province Nguyen Minh Hung and Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai discussed further bilateral cooperation between Hai Duong and Malaysia during a reception for the latter in the province on May 27.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung informed the ambassador about the province’s socio-economic development, highlighting an increase of about 9.81% in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the 1st quarter of 2024, ranking 6th out of 63 localities nationwide.
Hung expected that Ambassador Dato’ Tan Yang Thai would provide a link to enhance market information exchange, trade promotion and cooperation between Hai Duong and Malaysian partners to expand export markets.
He wished that the ambassador would coordinate in popularizing the provincial business environment and create opportunities to take the province’s products into distribution systems of Malaysian businesses.
“Hai Duong gives priority to attracting foreign investment to high-tech industries, advanced and eco-friendly projects, information technology, agricultural and aquatic product processing, supporting industries, services…,” Hung stressed.
Ambassador Dato’ Tan Yang Thai highly appreciated the potential and development advantages of Hai Duong province.
He suggested that Hai Duong continue to pay attention to Malaysian businesses in the locality and promised to promote development cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam, including Hai Duong province.
There are seven Malaysian investment projects in Hai Duong with a total registered capital of 48.7 million USD, coming 18th in terms of investment among countries investing in the province.
