Businesses help poor people enjoy Tet

Though busy with production and business, Hai Duong-based enterprises still have many activities to take care of disadvantaged people in the province every Tet (Lunar New Year).

Thanh Dong Real Estate Investment JSC. has donated 1 billion VND to the province’s “Humane Tet” program despite recent difficulties in business activities. This is a typical unit in carrying out welfare activities for the poor this Tet.

Agribank’s Hai Duong branch has donated 700 million VND to give 1,400 Tet gifts to poor people and policy families in the province this year.

The branch also encouraged employees to save money for 67 disadvantaged cases and planned to offer unexpected allowances to the poor and people in special circumstances in the first quarter of 2024.

Agribank’s Hai Duong branch II has also registered to present 1,400 gifts worth a total of 700 million VND to poor people this Tet.

Tien Trung Co., Ltd. in Kinh Mon provincial town has for years conducted production and business in parallel with social security activities.

The company annually participates in local charity and humanitarian activities with donations valued at 200 – 300 million VND/year and carries out even more programs and activities for the community, especially poor people, near Tet.

Members of the provincial Young Business Association always actively response to social security activities, according to chairman of the association Nguyen Cong Hai.

“A lot of member businesses have made donations to our association’s "Tet for the Poor" program this year,” Hai joyfully said.

Aside from the Agribank’s branches, many other companies and units have also supported a program launched by the Standing Board of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee to present gifts to poor, near poor, and disadvantaged households on this Tet occasion.

Typically, Vietinbank’s Hai Duong branch registered to donate 500 gifts worth 250 million VND; Thanh Son Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd. 450 gifts worth 225 million VND; Vietcombank’s Chi Linh branch 400 gifts worth 200 million VND; Dai An JSC. 200 gifts worth 100 million VND; etc.

The business community’s assistance is an important resource for poor and disadvantaged households in the province to relieve pressure and worries as Tet approaches.
