2023 Hai Duong - Chi Linh Festival kicks off

The 2023 Hai Duong - Chi Linh Festival officially opened at Sao Do Square, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province, on September 28 evening.

In attendance at the event were about 1,000 guests, locals, and visitors from inside and outside the province.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang hailed the 2023 Hai Duong - Chi Linh Festival, affirming that Chi Linh is a sacred land of extraordinary people.

The city is home to invaluable cultural heritage like Con Son and Kiep Bac relics, Thanh Mai pagoda, Ngu Dao mountain… in association with historical heroes, nature, culture, and generous local people, which are rich and attractive resources to develop the tourism economy, said Thang.

The provincial authorities appreciated and recognized Chi Linh’s initiative to organize the festival to step by step build a special and creative cultural brand based on the nation's core cultural values, according to the provincial Party chief.

He believed that the festival would be an important foundation for Chi Linh city as well as Hai Duong province to have new developments in tourism services.

“This is a premise to attract investors to tourism infrastructure and services, give tourism a facelift in both quality and quantity, and gradually turn tourism into a key economic sector of Chi Linh city and Hai Duong province,” added Thang.

The opening ceremony was divided into three parts with many majestically staged art performances and a large number of performers.

They sang special and new songs about Chi Linh and Hai Duong and performed unique music genres of various localities, such as van (spiritual) singing of Chi Linh, then singing of Tay ethnic group in Lang Son city, and quan ho (love duet) of Bac Ninh province.

There also were performances by members of the Vietnam Lion and Dragon Dance Federation from 10 provinces and cities, low-level and rotary fireworks...

The 2023 Hai Duong - Chi Linh Festival is taking place from September 24 to October 4 at Sao Do Square, Con Son – Kiep Bac special national relic site, and Den Sinh – Den Hoa national relic site.

A series of events are scheduled within the framework of the festival, including a Mid-Autumn Festival on September 29 evening, a Festival of Practices Related to Vietnamese Beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms at Den Sinh – Den Hoa national relic site on September 29 and 30, and folk games and a space to experience "Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival" for children on September 28 and 29.

This is the first time Chi Linh has organized such a festival, which is a particularly important cultural and tourism event of the city. Its activities are being held in parallel with the 2023 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
