Vibrant organic rice – ragworm festival in An Thanh commune

The People's Committee of An Thanh commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province, held the 4th Organic Rice – Ruoi (Ragworm) Festival on June 15.

Mỗi đội tham gia gồm 10 thành viên, thi gặt thủ công 200 m 2 lúa trong 20 phút — Each team has 10 members who compete in manually harvesting 200 m2 of rice within 20 minutes

Đại diện Ban tổ chức trao giải cho đội thi thôn Thanh Kỳ gặt nhanh nhất — A representative of the organizrs presents first prize to the fastest team from Thanh Ky hamlet

Ban tổ chức trao giải cho đội thôn An Lao gặt bó lúa đẹp nhất — The team from An Lao hamlet is awarded for having the most beautiful rice bundle

Nhiều sản phẩm OCOP từ rươi, cáy được trưng bày tại ngày hội — Various OCOP products made from ragworms and fiddler crabs are showcased at the festival

Tiết mục văn nghệ đặc sắc tại ngày hội — A special musical performance at the festival

Nhiều học sinh ở Hà Nội đến tham quan, trải nghiệm tại ngày hội lúa rươi hữu cơ xã An Thanh — Many students from Ha Noi come to visit and experience the festival

Đông đảo người dân trong và ngoài huyện đến tham quan, cổ vũ tại ngày hội — A large number of locals and visitors from other areas attend the event and cheer on the participants

An Thanh Commune has so far had 325 ha of organic farming integrated with ragworm and fiddler crab harvesting. The average annual yield is 450 tons of ragworms and 200 tons of fiddler crabs. The value of the products reaches 400 – 450 million VND per hectare per year, 8 –10 times higher than conventional intensive farming.

Tu Ky district is home to 41 products certified under the OCOP (One Commune One Product) program, including 17 products from organic farming and ragworm – fiddler crab harvesting areas.
