Hai Duong to remove obstacles for Lai Vu industrial park

There remain shortcomings and limitations after the construction of infrastructure and attraction of investment to Lai Vu industrial park.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban urged relevant departments to check problems relating to Lai Vu industrial park (IP) in Kim Thanh district according to their assigned functions and tasks and propose remedies at the 2nd July meeting of the provincial People's Committee on July 17.

The provincial People's Committee basically agreed to a report of the Department of Finance on difficulties and obstacles of Lai Vu IP One Member Co., Ltd. (referred to as Lai Vu Company), the managing body of Lai Vu IP, at the meeting.

Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban suggested that concerned departments coordinate with Lai Vu Company to review, tally, and evaluate property in the IP after handover to thoroughly resolve the problems.

“It is necessary to point out inadequacies in investment outside the IP, review collective and individual responsibilities, and consult the Prime Minister for joint handling with Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment JSC.,” said Ban.

The standing vice chairman assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to inspect subsidiaries of Vinashin Group on land allocation and hire.

The Department of Finance shall assess the enterprises’ fulfillment of financial obligations.

The Department of Planning and Investment was tasked to check construction according to planning.

The provincial IPs Authority is responsible for receiving and summarizing suggestions of departments and sectors to report to the provincial People’s Committee.

Lai Vu IP, covering an area of over 192 ha, was assigned to Lai Vu Company by the provincial People’s Committee in 2014 for construction of technical infrastructure, with a land lease valid until 2054, reported Director of the Department of Finance Nguyen Trong Tue.

Tue said that by the end of 2022, the IP had lured 17 investors, including five subsidiaries of Vinashin Group, with an occupancy rate of 98.44%.

The enterprises contracted to hire 47.53 ha of land in the IP but failed to pay land rent and infrastructure fees as prescribed, according to Tue.

Lai Vu Company has 168 billion VND in charter capital, all of which belongs to the State, and mainly trades in infrastructure and lets out IP workshops.
