Appropriate authorities in Hai Duong are taking a lot of measures to turn Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site in the province’s Chi Linh city into a national tourist area.
Tran Thi Kim Oanh from Hai Phong city was surprised when walking on the road to Con Son pagoda with her son during a weekend visit there.
“The road was narrow and often congested during the festival season in the past. Now it is wider and asphalted, contributing to making the relic more spacious and beautiful,” said Oanh.
Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site is identified as a potential location for developing a national tourist area. To make this come true, many projects have been implemented at both relics.
One of them is a project to build a wharf and a market by the Thuong river, a festival ground and a parking in front of Kiep Bac temple with an estimated investment of 98 billion VND. The project is expected to create a bustling scene near the river to meet tourism needs.
The potential also helps Con Son - Kiep Bac included in a list of projects prioritized for investment in the 2021-2030 period.
In addition, the site has received investment in digital transformation, manpower training and retraining, preservation and promotion of resources’ value, environmental projection, etc. to create a breakthrough for tourism development.
In the immediate future, investment packages are welcomed to build roads around Kiep Bac temple and connect it to Con Son relic, and establish a fleet of tourist boats for traveling along the Luc Dau river, according to the Con Son - Kiep Bac Relics Management Board.
Meanwhile, camping activities can be organized around Con Son lake at Con Son relic on weekends.
Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site can provide more eco-tourism products, like forest exploration and mountain climbing, in the time to come thanks to its natural tourism potential and unique cultural value.
This goal requires large investments from various sources such as the State budget, socialization, and especially businesses.
Thus, Hai Duong should consider specific mechanisms and policies for the relic site to encourage domestic and foreign economic sectors to invest and develop products and work items there.
