Vietnam Maritime Corporation proposed the construction of a logistics and inland port center in Hai Duong with a capacity of 3 million tons of freight/ year.
The People’s Committee of Hai Duong province basically agreed to a report of the Department of Planning and Investment on the construction of a logistics and inland port center in Ninh Giang district, heard the 5th October meeting of the committee on October 17.
The project was proposed by Vietnam Maritime Corporation to meet local needs of transport, loading, unloading, storage, and distribution of goods and build an intermodal terminal to attract investors.
The center will be built on nearly 27 ha of land in Hong Phuc commune, Ninh giang district with a budget of close to 1,400 billion VND and a capacity of 3 million tons of freight/ year.
It is expected to be constructed from the 4th quarter of 2024 with a validity of 50 years from the date of approval.
The logistics and inland port center will offer services of intermodal transport for industrial parks and clusters in Ninh Giang district and surrounding areas, warehousing, loading, unloading, waterway and road transport, customs clearance, maintenance and repair of container shells, transport vehicles...
Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban directed the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the People's Committee of Ninh Giang district and relevant bodies to continue reviewing the necessity of the project, ensuring conformity between its goals and the general planning for Hong Phuc commune and the regional planning for Ninh Giang district.
