"Take a Vespa tour through bustling streets, cycle through rice fields and swim in beaches dotted along the country’s gorgeous coastline," it recommended.
A tour of Vietnam would be incomplete without trying signature street foods such as pho (noodle soup), banh mi (Vietnamese-style sandwich) and banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes), it said.
Travel between Vietnam and Australia is convenient since carriers such as Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air offer weekly flights from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city to Sydney and Melbourne.
The other destinations the newspaper lists are Bali in Indonesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Queenstown in New Zealand.
Australia is one of Vietnam's biggest tourism markets, with more than 383,000 people visiting in 2019, the year before Covid-19, according to data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Last year, there were 100,000 Australian tourists.
Vietnam offers 30-day e-visas for citizens from 80 countries and territories, including Australia.
