[Video] Long Dong Temple Festival jubilantly opens

Nam Sach district authorities solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Long Dong Temple Festival in Nam Tan commune on March 1.

This is the first time the festival has been organized at district level.

The festival, imbued with traditional cultural values of the district, is taking place from February 28 to March 2.

Some activities, including musical performances, incense offering, and folk games like chess, bit mat bat vit (catching a duck while blindfolded), and bit mat dap nieu (smashing a pot while blindfolded) have been organized within the framework of the festival.

15 typical students of Nam Sach district were presented with gifts on this occasion.

Long Dong temple worships three leading academic celebrities in Vietnam, namely Mac Hien Tich, Mac Kien Quan, and Mac Dinh Chi. Mac Dinh Chi is well-known as the “first doctoral laureate of two countries”.

Heroic martyr Mac Thi Buoi is also worshipped there.

The temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1995 and a provincial tourist attraction by the provincial People's Committee in 2019.
