Hai Duong vocational schools improve manpower training with international cooperation
Many vocational institutions in Hai Duong province have taken the initiative in international cooperation to improve training capacity and workers’ vocational skills and integration capability.
Hai Duong province is home to 33 vocational institutions and businesses engaged in vocational education, many of which tend to associate with foreign organizations in manpower training.
The vocational schools have two main forms of international cooperation.
They may cooperate with international businesses to train and provide human resources. The businesses support the schools with facilities and equipment to facilitate enrollment and increase job opportunities for graduates.
The institutions may also coordinate with international universities, colleges, and organizations in student exchange, lecturer training, technology transfer, and language training support; send students abroad for study or work; etc.
International cooperation, regardless of form, is an opportunity for vocational schools to develop and keep pace with the increasing integration trend, according to Nguyen Minh Vy, Vice Principal of Waterway Transport College No. 1 in Hai Duong city.
Last March, the college discussed cooperation contents with Maritime Academy Harlingen and PUM organization in the Netherlands to develop modern training programs.
Dutch experts will assist the college in improving its lecturers’ knowledge and skills; help the lecturers and students use radar and control systems on modern ships…
“This is a great chance for our college to develop the inland waterway vehicle driving profession to new heights and turn it into a key national profession meeting international standards,” said Vy.
The College of Mechanized Construction in Chi Linh city was one of 20 schools across Vietnam selected by Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation, a non-governmental organization in the Philippines, to carry out its project “Green electricity vocational training center” at the end of 2023, according to MSc Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Head of the college’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
“The organization will fund us with teaching and learning equipment in the fields of electricity and electronics, focusing on green electricity and automation; thus, our lecturers and students must be carefully selected to participate in the project,” said Huong.
