Part of ring road I named Vo Van Kiet Boulevard
Vo Van Kiet Boulevard will form a beltway around Hai Duong city, reducing traffic load for the downtown area and connecting the city with neighboring localities.
A ceremony was held at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard and ring road I on August 28 to name the road’s section in Hai Duong city Vo Van Kiet Boulevard.
The work is aimed at celebrating the 85th founding anniversary of the first Party cell, the predecessor of the present-day city Party Committee (August 26, 1938 – 2023).
The ceremony saw the attendance of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu, and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung, among others.
This was an important event that marked the efforts and solidarity of the city Party, government, and residents, according to Chairman of the city People's Committee Tran Ho Dang.
“Ring road I’s section crossing Hai Duong city is one of the key works to realize the resolution of the 23rd city Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 tenure,” said Dang.
The six-lane route, 5.67 km long and 42 m wide, stretches from the intersection with Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard to an intersection with provincial road 391.
It goes through the wards and communes of Lien Hong, Thach Khoi, Gia Xuyen, Tan Hung, and Ngoc Son of Hai Duong city, requiring the clearance of nearly 800 families’ land.
The route will form a beltway around Hai Duong city, reducing traffic load for the downtown area and connecting the locality with Ha Noi, Hai Phong city, and neighboring provinces, creating a strong driving force for socio-economic development to concretize the amended master plan for the city until 2040.
The work construction began on December 22, 2021 with two packages and a total investment of 885 billion VND.
The section from Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard to national highway 37 has so far basically built. The entire route is scheduled to open to traffic before December 15.
This is the first project in the overall planning for ring road I, about 30 km long, with two bridges across the Thai Binh river.
