In 2008, members of Con Son Honey Bee Cooperative, the forerunner of Viet Y Honey Bee JSC., decided to establish a business to meet production and business requirements.

Together with steady professional knowledge, her love for her career has helped Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen turn the company into a leading unit in applying science and technology to exploit natural clean honey.

The company's bee camp is moved to ecological and spiritual tourist attractions across the country like Con Son – Kiep Bac, Yen Tu, Ba Na Hills, Da Lat, etc. according to flower seasons to bring back the most quintessential honey drops.

Huyen explained the name Viet Y: "Previously, our company often raised pure Vietnamese bees, resulting in low output of honey. After research, I imported a herd of breeding bees from Italy. This is the bee variety bringing about the highest honey production in the world. To suit the climate in Vietnam, we created a Vietnamese-Italian bee variety by cross-breeding."

From the central bee farm with 500 herds in An Mo hamlet, Le Loi commune, Viet Y bees have been present in many regions of the country with 200 satellite farms.

The company has applied a modern technological process in combination with tradition beekeepers to create high quality honey products.

The enterprise annually sells about 20 tons of honey, nearly five tons of pollen, two tons of royal jelly, etc. with 18 products bearing Viet Y brand.

Not only being accepted by domestic consumers, Viet Y honey has also conquered customers from Germany, the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, etc.

Thanks to efforts in production and business, the company's honey has obtained a lot of noble awards. Viet Y honey has been honored as a typical product of the province and a golden agricultural product of the country for many consecutive years.

This year, the business has selected three most typical products to participate in the one commune-one product (OCOP) program. Those are Chi Linh specialty honey, royal jelly, and special beeswax hive.

As assessed by specialized bodies, the three products of the company are more outstanding than other products vying for the provincial OCOP title this year and meet OCOP ranking criteria.

"Viet Y honey has been present at hundreds of domestic and foreign fairs. Participating in the OCOP program, apart from economic purposes, we would like to take advantage of this opportunity to preserve and develop beekeeping for honey in this city. From here, our homeland's products will be better known through the OCOP priority ticket," Huyen said.
