Hai Duong marksman breaks national record

The Hai Duong shooting team has completed all competitions and exceeded the medal target at the ongoing 2023 National Shooting Championship, coach cum competitor Vu Khanh Hai announced on November 28.

The team secured two gold, three silver, and four bronze medals, higher than the target by one gold, one silver, and two bronzes.

Sharpshooter Nguyen Van Quan pocketed an individual gold and broke the national record in the men’s 50m rifle prone.

The other gold medal went to Vu Khanh Hai, Phan Huu Duc, and Nguyen Van Quan in the men’s team 50m rifle prone.

Veteran marksman Tran Quoc Cuong, a SEA Games gold medalist, grabbed two team silvers in the men’s 50m pistol and air pistol along with Nguyen Tuan Hai and Nguyen Hoai Son.

The provincial team claimed the remaining silver in the women's team 25m sports pistol.

The 2023 National Shooting Championship is taking place from November 20 – 30 at the Ha Noi National Sports Training Center.

The tournament drew more than 270 shooters from 16 units and localities coming to vie for 52 sets of medals.
