The Vietnamese team successfully competed and ranked third out of 81 teams participating in the World Pencak Silat Championship 2022, which has just ended in Malaysia.

One of six gold medals of the Vietnamese team was secured by fighter An Thi Hoa (women's 80 kg category).
Hoa, a native of Cao Ly hamlet, Cao Thang commune, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province, used to practice at the Hai Duong Sport Training and Competition Center with coach Vu The Hoang.
In the 8th grade, An Thi Hoa joined Ha Noi team and is now a regular member of the capital team's personnel.
An Thi Hoa is the fifth Hai Duong person and the first female fighter to have won the world championship in pencak silat.
Previously, all world gold medals went to male fighters, namely Vu The Hoang, Tran Dinh Nam, Le Sy Kien, and Hoang Van Bac.
