Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2023 to boast various activities

The Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2023 will feature more diverse activities than previous festivals, including a bigger week of culture, tourism, and trade promotion, according to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province Nguyen Minh Hung.

Hung, who is also head of the Organizing Committee of the Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2023, made the affirmation while concluding the committee’s meeting on festival organization on August 7.

The festival opening ceremony is expected to be held in the evening instead of the daytime as in previous years, said Hung.

“Con Son – Kiep Bac relic site is supposed to welcome a large number of visitors since key events will be carried out on weekends,” Hung added.

The vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee required the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to urgently perfect and report its plan to the provincial People's Committee and co-prepare all necessary conditions to organize traditional ceremonies solemnly and safely.

Sub-boards on content, propaganda, reception, logistics, security and order, and promotion of culture, tourism, and trade shall proactively work out their own plans before August 11 and realize the contents of the festival.

The Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2023 will take place from September 24 – October 4 (i.e. lunar August 10 – 20), according to the draft plan.

There will be the 723rd death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao, the opening ceremonies of the festival and the week of culture, tourism, and trade promotion, an army festival on the Luc Dau river, a requiem, a lantern releasing festival, etc. at Kiep Bac relic.

Con Son relic will be the venue of the 581st death anniversary of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai and an incense offering ceremony at the temple of Tran Nguyen Dan.

Many other cultural and sport activities are also scheduled for the festival.
