Hai Duong honors 100 outstanding blood donors

The Hai Duong Red Cross Society held a ceremony on June 11 to honor 100 outstanding voluntary blood donors of 2025 in celebration of World Blood Donor Day (June 14).

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Hung, who is also Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Mobilization of Voluntary Blood Donation, stated that the voluntary blood donation movement in Hai Duong has grown widely and achieved impressive results over the past years.

Since 2024, the province has mobilized and received tens of thousands of blood units, surpassing set targets and significantly contributing to the emergency treatment of thousands of patients.

Hai Duong is also among the leading localities in Vietnam in organizing such activities as the Red Spring Festival, Red Sunday, and the Red Journey for blood donation.

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2025, themed “Give blood, give hope: together we save lives,” Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh Hung called on every resident of Hai Duong to actively participate in the voluntary blood donation movement.

Hai Duong organized 95 blood donation drives in 2024, collecting nearly 22,000 blood units, 24% higher than the year’s target. This marked the highest number of blood units ever collected in the province. Since 2024, various levels of the provincial Red Cross Society have honored and rewarded 391 individuals, 48 collectives, and 24 families for their outstanding contributions to promoting and participating in voluntary blood donation. The 100 individuals honored on this occasion have each donated blood between 10 and 20 times.
