500 kV power line to be built through Hai Duong province
The Hai Phong - Thai Binh 500 kV line, nearly 40 km long, will contribute to meeting the load demand in Thai Binh and Hai Duong provinces, Hai Phong city, and neighboring areas.
The Prime Minister has approved investment in the Hai Phong - Thai Binh 500 kV line project.
The route will start at a 500 kV substation in Hai Phong city and end at a 500 kV substation in Thai Binh province, with a length of about 38.3 km, 96 column foundations, and a total investment of more than 1,983 billion VND.
The route will pass through 23 communes in six districts of Hai Phong, Hai Duong, and Thai Binh, in which, the section in Hai Duong province will be 10.1 km long and has 25 column foundations in the communes of Quang Trung, Nguyen Giap, Tien Dong, Ha Thanh, and Ha Ky of Tu Ky district.
The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, contributing to meeting the load demand in Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, and neighboring areas; improve quality, reduce power loss, strengthen connectivity, and flexibly operate the 500 kV transmission grid in the Northern region.
