Hai Duong eyes comprehensive cooperation with Suwon city
Vice Chairman of Hai Duong provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung wished for comprehensive cooperation between the province and South Korea’s Suwon city on the basis of exchanging and learning experiences in strong fields.
Vice Chairman of Hai Duong provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung held a reception for a delegation from South Korea’s Suwon city, led by First Deputy Mayor Kim Hyunsoo, on February 12 morning.
Hung informed the delegation about Hai Duong’s socio-economic development results in 2024, affirming that the province has a lot of potential, strengths, and conditions for development.
The province's economic scale in 2024 ranked 11th nationwide, with economic growth reaching 10.2%, coming 6th in Vietnam.
“Hai Duong is now home to 578 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, many of which came from South Korea a long time ago with high production and business efficiency,” said Hung.
The vice chairman appreciated the attention of Suwon city in the cooperative relationship with Hai Duong. The province sends many delegations to the city every year to visit and experience cultural and culinary activities as well as paying field trips to large economic groups to learn from their experiences.
To deepen the relationship between the two localities in particular and the two countries of Vietnam and South Korea in general, the vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee suggested that Suwon city continue to create conditions for art troupes from both sides to exchange and discuss experiences, thereby promoting tourism development in both Hai Duong and Suwon.
Hai Duong also expected businesses in Suwon city would consider investment in the province in the fields of information technology, biology, semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, etc.
First Deputy Mayor of Suwon city Kim Hyunsoo was impressed by Hai Duong's socio-economic development results. He desired strengthen cooperation with Hai Duong through exchanges in strong sports such as table tennis and badminton and suggested support for Hai Duong in developing housing projects.
In addition, Suwon city is experienced in preparing dossiers to request USESCO for world heritage recognition, thus willing to share experiences with Hai Duong so that the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex will soon be recognized as a world heritage site.
