On January 29, the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year Festival), Barrymore shared a short video from a children's playground with the caption: "Thanks! Ever since I was 7 years old, I can't go anywhere without someone recognizing my voice," in response to a fan's comment saying, "You're so funny."

Though she did not specify her location, many viewers quickly recognized the setting as Tran Nhan Tong walking street and Thien Quang Lake in central Ha Noi.

The video garnered over 153,000 likes and thousands of comments on TikTok. Fans were surprised to see the actress in Vietnam, with many expressing their admiration for her films. Comments included: "You are our childhood," "I love 50 First Dates", "One of Charlie’s Angels is in Vietnam", "You just need to say 'Hi' and I’d recognize your voice instantly" and "Are you visiting Ha Noi for Tet?"

Barrymore gained fame for her role as Dylan in "Charlie’s Angels" (2000), starring alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. The film, about three undercover detectives working for an anonymous benefactor named Charlie, was a major career boost for its lead actresses.

After "Charlie’s Angels", Barrymore found success in films such as "Donnie Darko", "Mad Love", "Batman Forever", "Family Guy", and "50 First Dates". Since 2009, she has expanded into directing and producing films while also building a beauty business under the Flower brand, which offers cosmetics and perfumes.
