Hai Duong enjoys strong growth in nine-month import-export value
Hai Duong province recorded fairly high increases in both import and export value in the first nine months of 2024.
Hai Duong province’s export value in the first nine months of 2024 reached 7.704 billion USD, equivalent to 65.3% of the year’s plan and up 8.6% year on year, the provincial Statistics Office reported.
Export value in each month of 2024 was also higher than the same period in 2023, except for February due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
Commodity groups that made up large proportions and posted high increases were garments and textiles with 1.955 billion USD, up 14.8%; electronic components and office machines with 1.43 billion USD, up 17.6%; and automobiles and auto parts with 1.225 billion USD, up 10% year on year.
The rises were greatly thanks to signs of recovery of Hai Duong's major export markets such as the US, South Korea, and Japan.
Import activities also recorded relatively high growth due to high demand for imported raw materials for export activities.
The province’s import value in the first nine months of the year was estimated at 6.084 billion USD, meeting 64% of the year’s plan and increasing by 7.8% against the corresponding period last year.
Typical imported goods were automobiles and auto parts, electronic accessories and components, and fabric and garment materials with rises of 13.5%, 19.1%, and 17.9%, respectively.
