Donation campaign launched to support typhoon victims in Hai Duong
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hai Duong is raising funds to support those affected by Typhoon Yagi in the province.
Typhoon Yagi, the third to hit Vietnam this year, has been causing heavy damage to people and property in Hai Duong province in particular and the country in general, Chairman of the VFF Committee of Hai Duong province Nguyen Duc Tuan wrote in an appeal for donation.
Many offices, schools, and houses in the province were blown up; tens of thousands of hectares of rice, vegetables, and aquaculture were flooded and at risk of total loss; numerous trees were broken or uprooted…, the appeal reads.
In particular, the typhoon circulation combined with floods from upstream raised the water level on the provincial rivers, causing flooding in some localities, greatly affecting people's lives and production.
In response to the appeal of the Presidium of the VFF Central Committee and with the consent of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, the VFF Committee of Hai Duong province calls on agencies, organizations, enterprises, philanthropists, officers and soldiers in the armed forces, officials, civil servants, workers, and people from all walks of life to uphold the tradition of national solidarity and the spirit of mutual affection to support and encourage Hai Duong people materially and spiritually so that they can quickly overcome the damage, restore production and business, and stabilize life.
