Hai Duong improves information access
Hai Duong province is striving to improve the Transparency and Access to Information (TAI) sub-index of the Provincial Competitive Index (PCI) to create fair competitive environment to attract investors.
Hai Duong’s PCI ranked 17th nationwide in 2023, up 15 places over the previous year.
TAI is one of 10 sub-indexes of the PCI, which measures enterprises’ capability to access information, regulations, and legal documents related to their investment, production, and business activities.
The sub-index also assesses the role and voice of businesses in developing regulations and policies.
Enterprises all want to be able to access information quickly and objectively to seek investment opportunities. From there, they can compare regulations and procedures in different localities to choose the most favorable environment for investment.
Nguyen Tri Cong, Deputy Director of Kien Minh Tam Co., Ltd. in Hai Duong city affirmed that only when having full access to information sources can enterprises plan appropriate development strategies. Basic information is the basis for Cong's enterprise to work out a plan to search for markets and develop business.
Enterprises in Hai Duong mostly have a small or medium scale, thus needing assistance and companionship in production and business, said Nguyen Trac Thang from the provincial Association of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises.
Easy and convenient access to information is also an important factor to support enterprises, according to Thang.
“Recently, the Association of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises has actively participated in policy consultancy and reviewing. Through this activity, enterprises can access information about regulations and policies and grasp related changes for smooth operation,” Thang added.
Over the past time, the province has taken measures to improve enterprises' access to information, focusing on upgrading the provincial portal, which is part of criteria for evaluating and commenting on the TAI sub-index.
The portal was upgraded with a new interface to make it easier for people and businesses to search for information.
Information about businesses, investors, the province’s development potential, investment attraction policies, as well as brief information about industrial parks and clusters in the province is also provided.
In addition, the portal has two specialized pages to receive comments of the business community and offer guidelines on business registration procedures.
Apart from the provincial portal, enterprises can access information about Hai Duong through channels and websites of the Hai Duong Newspaper, the Radio and Television Station, etc. with updated issues that businesses are interested in such as planning and investment incentives. All information is made public, ensuring equal access to information.
