Three bridges in Hai Duong to be enlarged in 2025
Three narrow bridges of Cay, Van Thai, and Lai in Cam Giang, Binh Giang districts and Chi Linh city will be renovated and enlarged in 2025 to handle traffic accident risks.
The Hai Duong Department of Transport is preparing for investment in projects to handle infrastructure shortcomings and traffic accident risks at three bridges in the province in 2025.
Those are Lai bridge at km 1+650 on provincial road 389B in Chi Linh city, Van Thai bridge at km 10+630 on provincial road 394C in Cam Giang district, and Cay bridge at km 8+650 on provincial road 394 in Cam Giang and Binh Giang districts.
All the bridges were built a long time ago with a width of only 4 m, narrower than the current road surface and unable to cope with large traffic volume, resulting in frequent congestion and potential traffic accidents.
The bridges are expected to be widened to 8 m, similar to the road surface. Besides, the pavements of the roads leading to Lai bridge will be reinforced, the clearance of Cay bridge will be raised, and its load-bearing capacity will be reinforced.
