Hai Duong chairman’s visit to Austria for investment promotion

Hai Duong expects Austrian investors to find investment opportunities in the province.

Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung worked with the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vienna Economic Chamber in Austria on July 25 afternoon and July 26 to explore opportunities for investment and cooperation on tourism development.

At the working sessions, Hung introduced Hai Duong’s potential and strengths, stressing that the province plans to develop 32 industrial parks with a total area of ​​about 5,661 ha, 10 golf courses, and 10 tourism projects.

The province has so far established 17 industrial parks on a total area of ​​2,738 ha, 12 of which have had infrastructure and been exploited for business, and the rest are under site clearance or construction.

Besides, 61 industrial clusters with a total area of ​​over 3,200 ha are ready to meet diverse needs of investors seeking investment opportunities in the province.

“Synchronous technical infrastructure of all industrial parks and clusters in Hai Duong will definitely satisfy investors’ demand,” said Hung.

The province has also applied many attractive incentive policies for foreign investors, including exemption and reduction of corporate income tax, import and export tax, and land use fees; support for manpower training, product marketing, services, etc., according to the provincial People's Committee chairman.

“With such potential and strengths, Hai Duong hopes that Austrian investors will continue to learn about the provincial investment environment, thereby finding investment opportunities in our province,” Hung elaborated.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Nguyen Trung Kien pledged to connect and create favorable conditions for enterprises in Vietnam in general, Hai Duong in particular, and Austria to learn about each other's partners and markets for long-term business relationships.

Vietnam-Austria two-way trade ranks 7th in the European Union (EU), and Vietnam is Austria's leading trade partner in the ASEAN, according to Kien and the Vienna Economic Chamber.

The EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which became effective as from August 1, 2020, is helping enterprises in Vietnam in general, Hai Duong in particular, and the EU, including Austria, have more favorable conditions to lengthen the lists of exports to each other's markets.
