COPION assists poor people in Tu Ky with house construction
South Korean organization COPION has carried out some charitable activities worth a total of 1.65 billion VND in Hai Duong province’s Tu Ky district.
The Center for Friendship Cooperation under the Hai Duong provincial Union of Friendship Organizations on July 16 coordinated with Cooperation and Participation In Overseas NGOs (COPION), an organization from South Korea, to inaugurate and hand over friendship houses to poor households in Tu Ky district.
Four families supported this time were all in extremely difficult housing situations.
Four friendship houses given to them cover an area of 35 - 40 m2. Each house was built with 220 million VND, sponsored by the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) through COPION.
On the same day, COPION and the IBK assisted Hung Dao Primary School in constructing a 58.7m2 toilet and installing sanitary equipment, a pure water filtration system, and 20 computers, two air conditioners, 20 tables, and 40 chairs in the school’s information technology room.
The units also presented 10 scholarships, worth 1 million VND each, to 10 poor students overcoming difficulties at Hung Dao Primary School, bringing the total amount of support for the school to 770 million VND.
Today (July 17), COPION will give three more friendship houses to poor households in Cam Giang district and inaugurate a school toilet at Lai Cach Primary School.
COPION’s project to assist poor households in Tu Ky and Cam Giang districts in house construction with non-refundable aid was approved by the provincial People's Committee chairman on May 10.
