Hai Duong socio-economic picture in first half of 2024. Article 4: Health and education development a priority policy
Hai Duong province continued to pay attention to health and education sectors in the first six months of 2024 to meet requirements in the new situation.
Hai Duong province strengthened direction to comprehensively improve the protection and care of people's health in the first half of 2024.
A number of new and high-tech techniques were applied at some provincial hospitals.
The province basically ensured enough drugs, chemicals, and medical supplies to serve examination and treatment.
From the beginning of the year, the number of people in the province suffering from infectious diseases decreased compared to the same period in 2023. Besides, there were not any collective food poisoning cases in the province.
Particularly, standing members of the provincial Party Committee held a dialogue with medical workers last May on the largest scale ever.
The provincial leaders received and directed handling of more than 2,000 comments and suggestions, step by step removing difficulties and obstacles in this sector.
The province also directed specialized agencies and local authorities to focus on education.
The province had 109 prizewinners in an exam to choose a team to compete in the national excellent student competition for the 2023-2024 school year, 108 of them were selected.
By the end of June, 78.1% of schools in the province met national standards.
The education sector promoted digital transformation, effectively innovated teaching methods, and diversified teaching forms.
In the first half of the year, the provincial People's Council continued to issue many resolutions on infrastructure construction and renovation for the education and health sectors with a budget of more than 1,000 billion VND.
It is worth noting decisions to build emergency, professional, technical, inpatient blocks… at the provincial General Hospital with a total cost of nearly 737 billion VND; construct and upgrade wastewater treatment systems of the Mental Hospital and four district-level Medical Centers with a total budget of 54 billion VND.
The province decided to build three senior high schools in Thanh Ha, Cam Giang, and Kim Thanh districts; a lecture hall for Hai Duong University; and the provincial Center for Excellent Student Training with a total costs of 85 billion VND, 100 billion VND, 40 billion VND, respectively.
