Hai Duong pledges to create favorable conditions for South African investors

Vice President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry Neil Pollock desired that there would soon be South African businesses investing in Hai Duong province.

Hai Duong is committed to best facilitating the investment of South African businesses in the province, said Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang at an investment promotion conference in South Africa on June 16.

The event was co-organized by Hai Duong province, the Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa, and the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang informed the participants about Hai Duong’s socio-economic development situation, investment fields, and potential for cooperation and development with South African businesses in industrial, agricultural, and service sectors.

Neil Pollock, Vice President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed his desire that there would soon be South African businesses investing in Hai Duong as well as many Vietnamese investors in South Africa.

The chamber will be an effective bridge to realize investment and trade promotion contents at the conference, Neil promised.

Many businesses took advantage of the opportunity to raise questions about the investment environment in Hai Duong, all of which were specifically answered by the provincial leaders.

One day earlier, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang and his entourage paid a working visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa.

The delegation will have a meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa and work with the country’s Vegetable Import and Export Association on June 18.

South Africa was Vietnam's second largest trade partner and export market in Africa in 2023, with an exchange turnover of nearly 1.2 billion USD.
