Hai Duong customs facilitate businesses’ import, export activities
The Hai Duong Customs Branch has created favorable conditions for businesses to import and export goods.
Hai Duong’s export value hit 891 million USD in April and nearly 3.130 billion USD in the first four months of 2024, up 21.1% and 12% year on year, respectively, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
April imports exceeded 841 million USD, an increase of 10.8% over the same period last year, pushing the total results in the first four months of 2024 to 2.630 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 12.5%.
Nearly 92% of the total import-export turnover went through the Hai Duong Customs Branch.
The recovery of some economies is the basic reason for Hai Duong-based businesses to have more export orders. A lot of companies continue to record stable growth in import-export turnover, including the limited liability companies of Brother Industries (Vietnam), Sumidenso Vietnam, Hyundai Kefico Vietnam, Ford Vietnam, and Regent Garment Factory.
Since the beginning of the year, the General Department of Customs, the Hai Phong City Customs Department, and the Hai Duong Customs Branch have taken synchronous measures to create favorable conditions for businesses, continued to strengthen administrative procedure reform and customs modernization, and promoted and made the customs-business partnership more and more substantial and effective.
An additional 16 enterprises have processed customs clearance procedures at the Hai Duong Customs Branch so far this year. Many of them have large import-export revenue, such as Hoa Phat Energy JSC., East Asia Aluminum Co., Ltd., and Dai An Tin Production and Trading JSC.
Dai An Tin Production and Trading JSC. produces nearly 100,000 tons of animal feed each year. About 80% of the company’s production materials must be imported.
“It is more convenient and proactive for our company’s production thanks to the processing of customs clearance procedures at the Hai Duong Customs Branch,” said director of the company Nguyen Van Thang.
The Hai Duong Customs Branch has limited errors in processing customs procedures, facilitated and further shortened customs clearance time, and reduced costs for businesses, according to Nguyen Van Thanh, director of the branch.
“The management of imports and exports and prevention of trade fraud have also been improved,” Thanh added.
