Hai Duong jumps 15 places in Provincial Competitiveness Index 2023

Hai Duong’s Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranked 17th nationwide in 2023, up 15 places over 2022.

Hai Duong’s Provincial Competitiveness Index 2023 ranks 17th in the country

Hai Duong scored 68.68 points in the PCI 2023, up 3.46 points compared to 2022, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) jointly announced on May 9.

The score helped Hai Duong ranked 17th nationwide, 15 places higher than 2022, and 5th among 11 localities in the Red River Delta.

The province recorded increases in points for seven out of 10 sub-indexes, namely Entry Costs, Time Costs of Regulatory Compliance, Informal Charges, Policy Bias, Proactivity of Provincial Leadership, Labor and Training, and Legal Institutions.

Regarding the Provincial Green Index (PGI), Hai Duong came 25th in the country, down 19 places compared to 2022, although obtaining higher points for three out of four sub-indexes.

The 2023 PCI and PGI rankings were drawn from feedback of 10,676 businesses, including 9,127 domestic private and 1,549 foreign-invested ones, in Vietnam.
