Event seeks to boost consumption of Thanh Ha lychee, Hai Duong agricultural products
Producers and exporters wished to continue receiving support and connection to increase opportunities to introduce and export lychee, and expand export markets.
A conference took place in Hai Duong on May 9 to promote the consumption of Thanh Ha lychee and the provincial agricultural products.
The event was co-organized both in-person and online by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the People's Committee of Thanh Ha district, and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the participation of Vietnam trade offices abroad and foreign businesses.
Vietnam Trade Offices in the US, Japan, Malaysia, France, and China provided a lot of information about the market situation, consumption trends of the host countries, regulations and standards on the import of lychee and other agricultural products.
Several producers and exporters like Ameii Vietnam JSC. and Red Dragon Co., Ltd. wished to continue receiving support and connection with businesses abroad to increase opportunities to introduce and export lychee, and expand new export markets.
Within the framework of the conference, many enterprises signed trade agreements with a number of production groups and cooperatives in Thanh Ha district.
Hai Duong province exports some 750,000 tons of rice, 900,000 tons of vegetables, 300,000 tons of fruit, and 200,000 tons of meat, poultry, and aquatic products each year.
Most of the province's agricultural products are produced with the application of scientific and technical advances and digital transformation and granted production unit codes, VietGAP, GlobalGAP, or OCOP certificates…
Many products are exported in large quantities to various countries, including high-end markets such as Europe, the US, Japan, and South Korea, bringing high economic value.
Lychee is one of eight key products of Hai Duong that is produced on a large scale with high technology, meeting strict food safety standards.
Thanh Ha has 3,282 ha of lychee in 2024, with an estimated yield of 20,000 – 22,000 tons.
Thanh Ha lychee is domestically consumed and exported to some large, high-end markets, including China (about 15,000 tons), Japan, France, the US, South Korea, Malaysia…
Early-ripening lychee in Thanh Ha is being sold for 120,000 VND/kg. It is expected that purchasing prices for export will increase higher.
