Ho Chi Minh city among world's cheapest nightlife destinations: Time Out
British travel magazine Time Out has ranked Ho Chi Minh city at sixth place among world's 10 cheapest nightlife destinations with the average cost of £8.66 (US$11).
To compile the list, it used a metric created by U.K. tour operator Ski Vertigo which analyzes the cost of three beers, a 5-km taxi journey, and a McDonald's meal across 183 major cities to see which is the friendliest for the budget of travelers.
China's Guangzhou, famous for its bustling night-time activities, topped the list where the average nightlife cost was $9.35, followed by India's Gurgaon ($10.36) and Egypt's Alexandria ($10.46).
Two Indian cities Coimbatore ($10.81) and Kolkata ($10.92) ranked at fourth and fifth places.
The rest of the top 10 were China's Shenzhen ($11.33), Tunis in Tunisia ($11.43), China's Beijing ($11.75) and Indonesia's Jakarta ($12.07).
Ho Chi Minh city, home to the famous Bui Vien backpacker precinct and pedestrian zones, is known for its night-time entertainment that remains open until late.
