Hai Duong - attractive destination for Japanese investors

Hai Duong province is an attractive destination for foreign investors in general and Japanese ones in particular.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Duong province Tran Duc Thang hosted a reception for a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, and a number of Japanese businesses on January 9 morning.

Thang briefed the delegation on Hai Duong’s investment attraction status as the delegation came to survey and promote investment in the province.

Hai Duong has more than 1,000 ha of industrial park land with completed infrastructure, ready to attract secondary investors, aside from more than 30 industrial parks and one specialized economic zone to be built in the future, according to Thang.

“With great advantages of geographical location, synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, closeness to seaports and airports, etc., Hai Duong has been an attractive destination for foreign investors in general and Japanese ones in particular,” said Thang.

The secretary of the provincial Party Committee spoke highly of Japanese businesses’ professional investment, affirming that the province will strive to resolutely handle obstacles raised by Japanese enterprises at the meeting within 2024.

Hai Duong considers the success of businesses and investors as the overall success of the province; thus, the province will facilitate investors’ project implementation in the locality, he noted.

“Hai Duong will continue to improve the quality of human resources to meet increasing needs of investors in the time to come and is willing to request the Vietnamese Government to offer investors better incentives,” Thang elaborated.

The official, on behalf of the provincial authorities and people, also extended condolences over losses of Japanese government and people caused by an earthquake on January 1.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio thanked Hai Duong side for the attention as well as the warm welcome for the delegation.

Yamada said Hai Duong is one of attractive Vietnamese localities to Japanese investors.

The diplomat expected that Hai Duong will continue to create favorable conditions for Japanese investors who have been investing and will invest in the province.

He believed that the province will appeal to investment in various fields, including high technology.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu hailed Hai Duong’s initiative of organizing investment promotion with Japanese enterprises from the first days of the year, demonstrating the province’s effort and determination to attract foreign investment in general and Japanese investment in particular.

“Hai Duong’s determination to improve the investment environment, companionship, timely sharing and removal of problems and difficulties of investors will definitely make it an attractive investment destination,” said Vu.

At the meeting, the Association of Japanese Businesses in Vietnam and a number of Japanese enterprises that have invested in Hai Duong highly appreciated the province’s companionship and support for investors, which was one of important reasons for their success.

Hai Duong province is home to nearly 18,000 businesses and 541 FDI projects with a total investment of 10.3 billion USD. Japan ranks second in both number of projects (67) and investment (1.58 billion USD) in the province.
