Vietnamese singer’s year-end performance stirs up Chinese fans
Vietnamese singer Chi Pu and Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming celebrated the new year with an upbeat song Sunday evening on a Hunan Broadcasting System TV show.
The duo sang "Rainbow Smiles," a song about optimism in life, with dancers wearing panda costumes performing in the background.
Chi Pu, who was introduced as a "lovely Vietnamese lady," asked Xiaoming after the performance to bring his famous food show Chinese Restaurant to Vietnam.
Chi Pu, 30, is a singer and actress who is active in both Vietnam and China. She has been participating in Chinese TV shows, and in October last year launched a Vietnamese pho restaurant in Shanghai, aiming to introduce the traditional rice noodle soup to more people across the globe.
Also in October, she performed at the 2023 Asian Youth Music Festival in Nanjing.
Her Weibo account has 3.5 million followers.
Xiaoming, 46, is a Chinese actor, singer, businessman, and model. He is known for his performances in several movies such as "Sniper" and "Sacrifice."
