Businesses back in the game
Many enterprises in Hai Duong province have decided to return to the market amidst many difficulties in production and business.
Hai Duong province has recorded positive results in business development in 2023, including a sharp increase in the number of newly-established enterprises (over 1,800) and the return of many suspended ones.
This year, nearly 1,000 companies in the province registered to resume operation, up 12.6% over the same period last year.
These figures are positive signs of the business community’s recovery in the face of economic challenges.
Sunshine Trade, Technology, and Tourism Co., Ltd. in Hai Duong city was temporarily suspended in 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Not until early 2023 did the company register to be back in business to take advantage of new advantages since the pandemic was put under control and the economy started to recover, according to company director Pham Van Diep.
“Our company's business is not as good as before the epidemic but has seen positive developments,” said Diep.
Hung Thinh Trading and Services JSC. in Chi Linh city has also quickly changed its business strategy to adapt to new conditions since returning to the market in mid-2023.
“This time, our company will focus on providing irrigation services in Central provinces to reduce competition first before aiming for new goals,” said Nguyen Duc Hung, director of the company.
Hung added that registration to resume operation helps his business have full legal status to carry out large contracts.
“The rise in the number of companies reentering the market demonstrates not only economic recovery but also improvements of the provincial investment and business environment,” said Le Hong Dien, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment.
The department has recently focused on proposing tasks related to administrative procedure reform and reported businesses’ requests to the provincial authorities for timely settlement, creating favorable conditions for enterprises in production and business.
The department hopes that agencies and units will actively coordinate with the planning and investment sector to accompany enterprises in their operations so that they will feel secure and confident in the provincial investment and business environment.
