Two Hai Duong finswimmers win golds at Asian championship

Hai Duong finswimmers brought home two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the biggest finswimming tournament in Asia.

Three out of four Hai Duong finswimmers in the national team won medals at the Asian Finswimming Championship and Asian Juniors Finswimming Competition 2023, coach Pham Dang Khoa said on November 29.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh secured a gold medal in the junior women’s 4 x 100 m category. This is the first time Linh has topped the podium at the continent's biggest tournament.

Veteran finswimmer Pham Thi Thu excellently snatched another gold, a silver, and a bronze in the women’s 4 x 200 m, women’s 4 x 100 m, and 4 x 50 m mixed relay of the championship, respectively.

Le Thi Thanh Van was the last Hai Duong finswimmer to pocket a silver and a bronze for the national team at the championship.

Both Thu and Van were gold medalists at SEA Games 32.

The Asian Finswimming Championship and Asian Juniors Finswimming Competition 2023 took place in Phuket, Thailand from November 22 – 29, with the participation of 370 finswimmers from 15 countries and territories.
