About 4,000 foreigners, mainly experts and workers from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, etc., are working at businesses and production facilities in Hai Duong province, according to the provincial Police.

From the beginning of 2023 to the beginning of November, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs processed nearly 3,000 applications for work permits for foreigners, including nearly 1,500 requests for new licenses, nearly 900 for renewal, and more than 200 for reissue.

The department’s Labor and Employment Division halved the processing time of related administrative procedures to enable foreign experts and laborers to work in Hai Duong, according to division head Dao Thu Hien.

Many new visa policies became effective in Vietnam as from August 15, including the granting of e-visas to foreign arrivals.

E-visas are now valid for up to 90 days instead of 30 days as before. Citizens of countries that are exempted from visas by Vietnam will be granted temporary residence for 45 days (up from 15 days).

Entry approval procedures are also simpler.

Last July, the provincial People’s Committee required concerned bodies to actively coordinate with local authorities in managing foreigners and police forces to strengthen the management of residence and activities of foreigners in the province.

This is a basis for Hai Duong to actively control and create favorable conditions for foreigners to work in the province in line with relevant regulations.

Employers of Vietnam Sungold Commodity Co., Ltd. in Cong Hoa industrial park, Chi Linh city, can clearly see changes in the province's foreign labor management for frequently inviting experts and workers from other countries to transfer technology and train laborers.

“The processing of administrative procedures and processes related to licensing foreign workers in Hai Duong is relatively quick and convenient. Conditions for foreign workers to be licensed are also checked very carefully,” said Wang Yong Qiang, director of the company’s construction engineering department.

The provincial Police’s Immigration Management Division has inspected foreigners’ observance of regulations on immigration and residence at 62 businesses in the province since early this year.

The enterprises basically complied with regulations related to foreigners working and residing in the province.

During the inspection, regulations on the management of foreigners' activities in the province were also disseminated to the businesses for proper implementation.
