US band Maroon 5 to perform at Vietnam festival in December
Renowned American band Maroon 5 will perform at a music festival set to take place on Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang province this December, the event organizer has announced.
Maroon 5 will grace the stage at the 8Wonder Winter Festival on December 16, which forms part of the ‘Wake Up Festival 2023’ series hosted by Vinpearl Phu Quoc integrated entertainment and resort complex from December 9, 2023 to January 7, 2024.
The announcement swiftly garnered significant interest, with posts about Maroon 5 amassing tens of thousands of interactions on social media.
Numerous fans expressed their enthusiasm with comments like, "This year marks an incredible year for Vietnam’s music festivals. Westlife is on the way, and Maroon 5 will be here. Let’s dress up and head to Phu Quoc, everyone!”
Last month, Irish boy band Westlife thrilled Vietnamese audiences by revealing their plan to come back to Vietnam for a live concert scheduled for Ho Chi Minh city on November 22.
“It’s time to use my piggy bank,” reads another comment regarding Maroon 5’s performance on Phu Quoc, which will mark their first appearance in Vietnam.
Fans eagerly anticipate Maroon 5’s performing their beloved hits, including ‘Animals,’ ‘This Love,’ ‘Payphone,’ ‘Move Like Jagger,’ ‘Sugar,’ and ‘She Will Be Loved’ this December.
The U.S. pop rock band debuted in 2002, consisting of lead vocalist Adam Levine, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar.
The band has sold more than 135 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
In January, it was announced that ‘Moves Like Jagger’ had become the second-most downloaded song of all time.
Maroon 5 also won three Grammy awards out of 10 nominations.
Billboard magazine ranked Maroon 5 ninth on its list of Best Artists of the 2010s.
Back in July, the inaugural 8Wonder music festival took place in Nha Trang city of south-central Khanh Hoa province, featuring stellar performances by Charlie Puth, drawing in an approximately 7,000-strong enthusiastic audience.
