Hai Duong boosts investment, trade in Belgium

Hai Duong pledges to assist foreign investors in connection and exploration of the investment environment and partners in the province.

Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung attended the Belgium – Vietnam Business Meeting in Belgium on October 18 as part of his ongoing trip to Europe for investment and trade promotion.

Addressing the event, Hung affirmed that this was an important and practical activity to strongly foster connection, investment, and trade, contributing to enhancing the strategic partnership between Vietnam and European countries.

Hai Duong looks forward to attracting investment from Europe, including Belgium, in various fields in the province, including manufacturing, processing, hi-tech agriculture, logistics, and ecotourism, Hung told the participants.

“Hai Duong is offering many attractive preferential policies for foreign investors, such as exemption of reduction of corporate income taxes, support of infrastructure construction, manpower training, and promotion of products and services,” said Hung.

He briefed potential and strengths of the province, including a favorable geographical location, abundant human resources, and modern and synchronous infrastructure.

In particular, the province has nearly 5,600 ha of industrial land, more than 1,000 ha of which are being used to construct six industrial parks for rent from the end of 2023, definitely meeting land use needs of investors to Hai Duong, Hung noted.

The province also has various products that can satisfy export standards, such as garments, electronic components, and agricultural products, he continued.

The official pledged that Hai Duong would always assist investors in connection and exploration of the local investment environment and partners.

“Hai Duong authorities will always accompany investors throughout their investment exploration, production, and business in the province. We believe that with its potential and advantages, the province will become an attractive destination for international investors,” Hung added.

Honorable Consul of Vietnam De Grand Ry said that his logistics firm, which has operated in Vietnam for 20 years, is keen on shipping Hai Duong lychee to Belgium. Some other companies also showed their interest in ecotourism in the province.

By early October 2023, Hai Duong had lured 22 projects from European countries, including the UK, France, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland, with a combined capital of 374.3 million USD.
