Outstanding Vietnamese farmer Nguyen Thi Binh earns billions of dong each year from her ostrich farm in Hai Duong province.
Nguyen Thi Binh in Minh Tan commune, Kinh Mon provincial town, Hai Duong province, opened an ostrich farm in 2009.
It was the first to be licensed in the province and is increasingly developing, bringing about billions of dong each year.
The ostrich farm covers an area of over 10 haThe number of ostriches at the farm has increased from 60 at first to nearly 800 for laying, trading, and breedingBreeding ostriches at the farm are often provided for farmers from Northern to Central regions, while commercial ostriches for Hai Duong and neighboring localities like Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, and Bac NinhBesides breeding ostriches, the farm also offers ostrich-based products, such as meat, eggs, and sausagesNguyen Thi Binh not only raises ostriches but also grows grapes to build an eco-tourism farm to serve touristsThe farm is providing jobs for about 20 laborersBinh has been granted the "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" title in 2023 by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union thanks to her achievements
