[Photos] [Video] Unique fish catching festival in An Thanh commune

A fish catching festival was held in the Soi river, An Thanh commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province on August 6.

The event lured hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators from various localities inside and outside the province.

Each competitor used a fishing-basket to catch fish. The first-prize winner was the one who caught the heaviest fish.

This is the third year the festival has been organized to create a joyful playground, preserve a particular profession that has been associated with local people for decades, and popularize agricultural products of the commune like ruoi (ragworm) and organic rice.
