Technician Nguyen Trong Hieu controls an automatic rotor press made by himself

Nguyen Trong Hieu, an employee of Toan Phat Co., Ltd. in Hai Duong, was one of four workers in the province to be granted the noble Nguyen Duc Canh Awards for employees with excellent achievements in production by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor last July.

Hieu and some colleagues invented an automatic rotor press in 2019.

The machine can press 1,200 rotors/ day with one operator, while the old one could only press about 300 rotors/ day with three operators.

The employees then created the second press after the first one had operated smoothly and efficiently.

At present, the two presses are both labor-saving and still meet working requirements.

Hieu conceived another one-man machine to cut and collect copper wires from damaged motors in 2020.

“I was determined to turn my ideas into reality despite many failures in the process of designing, manufacturing, and testing the machines,” said Hieu.

His initiatives benefit the company more than 1.1 billion VND each year.

Hieu was rewarded by the company’s Board of Directors as soon as the machines were put into effective operation and got more bonuses at the end of those years.

This is the motivation for the technician to actively work and constantly devote his labor and creativity to the enterprise.

He is currently researching on an automatic 1-phase motor shell driller, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

“Hieu is an excellent trade-unionist,” said Tran Dai Duyet, Chairman of the provincial industry and trade sector’s Trade Union.

He was awarded a certificate of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Golden Hand title by the provincial Confederation of Labor, and a certificate of merit by the provincial industry and trade sector’s Trade Union, Duyet said.
