Hai Duong targets sustainable development with green economy

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung recommends Hai Duong province to absorb suggestions of members of the National Appraisal Council to complete the provincial planning documents

Hai Duong considers provincial planning a particularly important task, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung.

Hung was speaking at a conference held by the Hai Duong Provincial Planning Appraisal Council on June 20 in Ha Noi to appraise the provincial planning documents for the 2021 – 2030 period with a vision to 2050.

He believed that good implementation of the provincial planning will contribute to the overall development of the region and the country.

The chairman of the provincial People’s Committee affirmed that during planning, the provincial authorities directed relevant sectors to focus on development orientation and connection with neighboring provinces and cities, especially traffic, trade, service, and logistic systems.

Linkages between national and international relic and landscape complexes were also included for renovation, value promotion, and motivation of inter-regional development.

The plan also stated reasonable and effective allocation and use of land, resources, and space in association with environmental protection and assurance of social welfare, defense, and security, Hung added.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang said that the province defined its current position to work out specific objectives in the plan for sustainable growth.

The province attaches great importance to industry but still cares about agriculture, Thang said.

Hai Duong has arranged enough land to lure investors in the direction of using a little land for high efficiency in association with environmental protection and pays attention to developing services and spiritual and ecological tourism, he went on.

“Those are the bases for Hai Duong to determine growth and development goals in the coming time,” said Thang.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed that Hai Duong province has been seriously realizing the plan with new thinking, new vision, and development aspirations.

The minister advocated the province’s planning for the development of a special economic zone and services, suggesting that the locality soon propose a plan to create a driving force for development.

“It is necessary to associate urban development with the planning of industrial parks and traffic infrastructure and care about building high-quality human resources to motivate development,” said Dung.

The council agreed to the province’s viewpoint and model of quick, sustainable, balanced, and harmonious development with green and circular economy.
