Exporting first longan batch to Singapore

This batch has docked at Hai Phong port and is expected to arrive in Singapore in the next few days.

Red Dragon Co., Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh city has harvested and selected 16 tons of Mien Thiet longan in VietGAP production areas of Chi Linh city for export to Singapore, according to the Plant Protection Sub-department under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Being transported by sea, this batch has docked at Hai Phong port and is expected to arrive in Singapore in the next few days. This is the first year Hai Duong's longan has been exported to this market.

There are 2,120 ha of longan in the province, mostly in Chi Linh city, Kinh Mon provincial town, Thanh Ha district, etc. Of which, nearly 51 ha of longan are cultivated under VietGAP process.

The total yield of longan this year is estimated at 12,000 ton, about 250 tons of which are expected to be exported to Singapore, the EU, etc.
