Hai Duong jumps 34 places in PCI rankings

This is the year the province has the highest PCI ranking in the past 17 years. Hai Duong is also one of 10 localities assessed to have good infrastructure quality in the country.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a ceremony in Ha Noi on April 27 morning to announce the 2021 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) rankings.

Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Duong province, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and Mr. Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, attended the event.

According to the announced result, Hai Duong’s PCI in 2021 got 67.65 points, ranking 13th nationwide, 6th out of 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta, and 1st among 20 localities placed fairly high.

Compared to 2020, Hai Duong’s PCI had 5.13 more points and jumped 34 places. This is the year the province has the highest PCI ranking in the past 17 years.

Hai Duong is also one of 10 localities assessed to have good infrastructure quality in the country.

The PCI rankings were built based on feedback from 11,312 enterprises, including 10,127 active private ones in 63 provinces and cities and 1,185 active others with foreign direct investment (FDI) in 22 localities across the country.
