Construction of Dong Viet bridge connecting Bac Giang and Chi Linh begins

The Bac Giang Agricultural and Traffic Work Construction and Investment Project Management Board on June 24 morning held the ground-breaking ceremony of a project to build Dong Viet bridge and its approaches in Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province.
This is a work connecting Thuong riverbanks in Yen Dung district and Chi Linh city.
The project to build Dong Viet bridge and its approaches has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND.
It will start in Canh Thuy commune, Yen Dung district, and end in Hung Dao commune, Chi Linh city.
The work has a total length of 8.59 km, including 731.2 m for Dong Viet bridge and the rest for the approaches.
As designed, Dong Viet bridge will be 22.5 m wide, the approaches will be 21.5 m wide, and the speed will be 100 km/h.
The Bac Giang Agricultural and Traffic Work Construction and Investment Project Management Board is the investor of the project.
To create synchronous connection, the People’s Committee of Hai Duong province has approved a report on studying the feasibility of a project to build the approach of Dong Viet bridge connected with national highway 37 in Chi Linh.
The project has a total investment of over 469.8 billion VND from Central and provincial budgets in the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021 – 2025 period.
The route will be nearly 5.3 km long. The start point is km8+590 in Hung Dao commune, and the end point will intersect with national highway 37 in Cong Hoa ward, Chi Linh city.
The approach was designed to have the scale of a 2nd-grade plain road, a 22.5 m wide roadbed, a speed of 80km/h, etc.
According to the plan, the construction of Dong Viet bridge and the approach in Yen Dung district will last about 30 months.
Upon completion, the work will connect the banks of the Thuong river, motivating the socio-economic development of the two provinces.
