Kim Thanh starts East-West trunk-road building

Leaders of the province, Kim Thanh district, and the construction contractor perform the groundbreaking ceremony

Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, attended the event.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang affirmed that Kim Thanh had great potential, advantages, and an important position in the provincial economic region.

The construction of phase 1 of the East-West trunk-road’s section in Kim Thanh was assigned to the district authorities as the investor by the provincial authorities.

Investment resources are taken from the cost of transferring land use rights for residential and urban area projects with the district authorities enjoying all land use auction fees.

This is also a new policy of the provincial authorities and the second work to implement this mechanism after Hai Duong city’s ring road I.

The commencement of the work is of great significance, gradually realizing the works and projects for the resolution of the district Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 tenure, contributing to improving the local project management capacity and removing traffic bottlenecks in the district.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang required Kim Thanh district authorities to continue to strive and take advantage of all resources to carry out the project on time.

Phase 1 of the East-West trunk-road’s section in Kim Thanh district begins at an interchange of national highway 5 in Kim Xuyen commune and ends at Ngu Phuc roundabout with a length of more than 3.68 km and a total investment of 232.47 billion VND.

In phase 1, the route is designed with technical standards of a 3rd-grade plain road, a 12 m wide roadbed, and an 11 m wide road surface, suitable to the scale and technical standards of the route.

Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed in 2023.

Phase 1 of the route is short but very important, creating a premise for the district authorities to realize a project to build the interchange of national highway 5 in Kim Xuyen commune, which is expected to start in 2023.

Upon completion, the works will form an axis connecting national highways 18 and 5 and Ha Noi – Hai Phong expressway.
